About Me

I enjoy getting creative – photography and writing are the areas of work I love most. I have published food & travel pieces for lifestyle magazines, articles in catering & hospitality publications and also write blogs for clients websites. In 2016 I was also lucky to be a finalist in the Pink Lady Food Photography Competition which was one of the most surprising and humbling achievements since I picked up a borrowed camera and starting snapping! 

My relationship with the Guild of Fine Food has been a really fabulous journey over the last 10 years, from submitting entries for artisan producers in the Great Taste Awards to becoming a regular judge and now an associate member. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing chefs and producers bringing them together for special events is exciting, fun and never fails to inspire me with their passion. 

My “foodie adventures” have included chefs visits, educational study tours and photo workshops in some amazing places. From Denmark to the Channel Islands, Holland, Spain, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Dubai, Italy, Colombia, Sweden, Portugal, Costa Rica & Morroco.

For the last six year’s I have had the pleasure of working the non-profit making Skills for Chefs conference in Sheffield, one of the largest events for professionals in the hospitality industry. Some of the most talented chefs have taken part, including  Raymond Blanc OBE , John Williams MBE from The Ritz in London, Lisa Goodwin-Allen from Northcote , Robert Ortiz, Daniel Clifford, Tom Kerridge, Tom Aikens, Claire Smyth, Claire Clark to name but a few not forgetting Adam Smith holder of a Michelin star at Coworth Park. The event in 2019 was made very special with the addition to the programme of Henrique Sa Pessoa – 2 star Michelin chef from Alma in Lisbon ( not just a chef but a truly wonderful & passionate guy) Spending time with Henrique in his private development kitchen, followed by a superb dining experience in his restaurant in Lisbon was amazing.

 From time to time I also partner up with non-food companies but who still share the same values, ethics and approach to sustainability and the environment as the foodie folks! My interest in crafts, lifestyle, design, nature and the great outdoors gives me varied subjects to capture – my camera is never far away! My next partnership will be with Global Travel on a superb Food Safari to Vietnam in March 2020.

If you haven’t already gathered I am a very down to earth and straight talking “Yorkshire Lass” who will always give my honest and genuine opinion – I may not be for everyone but believe mutual trust, respect and honesty is the very best way to get the best out of life and work opportunities.
